Chin grazing bobs were prevalent at the
65th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards - and not surprisingly! These stylish short
crops are effortlessly chic, versatile, and great for giving the illusion of an
elegantly elongated neck and spotlighting your silhouette.
If you’ve been considering a bob, we
encourage you! But have no fear long-locked lovelies! If you’re not prepared to
chop your tresses, you can still achieve a striking stylish short ‘do at whim.
At the Emmy Eve Soiree last weekend,
Homeland actress Claire Danes’ lengthy tresses were draped loose around her
shoulders. The following evening at the awards ceremony, Ms Danes transformed
her hair - rolling her long locks into a faux bob. Stunning! And, it’s an easy,
standout style to replicate for a special soiree or event.
To achieve
this look, follow these simple steps:
- To create texture and pliability apply styling mousse to wet hair and blow-dry. If possible use a big round brush for sleek and springy locks.
- Form a deep side parting. Use a large barrelled curling iron or heated rollers to curl the bottom half of your locks under and inwards. (This will make it easier to form your faux bob.) Gently brush out the curls, to smooth your tresses.
- To form the basic shape of your faux bob, part your hair into two even sections. Create two wide pin curls (from each ear to the nape of your neck), by coiling each section inward and securing with hairpins along the base of your head (making sure the pins are hidden).
- Complete your style; by making sure the two sections are seamless and securing any loose strands. At this point you can sweep one side of your hair behind your ear and reposition your tresses to frame your face.
- Once everything is in place, spritz the style with hairspray.
Voila! Instant Bob!
